Busy days!

Whoa! This past week has truly flown by. I can't believe it's almost been two weeks since I last posted! Better late than never, I always say. Well, here goes!

Friday, January 6th

This was our first day of observing in the classroom and it made me even more excited to start teaching. It was a bit intimidating for the first few moments because of the unknown and the fact that I had been switched from a 2nd grade classroom to the 3rd grade last minute. I am very pleased with the switch though and I have enjoyed it so far. There are 18 students in the class. 12 girls and 6 boys. I am already growing to love them and I haven't even started teaching yet. This day we were only observing until about 2 pm, and after this we headed home for our weekend. Friday night we got invited by a couple guys that live in our building to come over and watch "Midnight in Paris" it was an interesting movie (a one-time viewing film). :) But we had a great discussion about the film once it was over and we are grateful to be making friends with others in the area.

Saturday, January 7th

Today I woke up leisurely and headed over to the Pentagon with Stephanie. This has been my favorite sightseeing venture thus far and I think it is because I actually experienced September 11th. I was in 7th grade during the attacks on the World Trade Centers and the Pentagon so seeing the memorial for fellow Americans that I could have possibly met touched me even more than I had planned. I listened to the audio tour and was touched by the symbolism of each aspect of the memorial. I am so proud to be an American and to live in this amazing country. After leaving the Pentagon, we then headed over to Arlington Cemetery and we were both again touched by the many men and women who have sacrificed so much for this country. I am so blessed to have been born in a country where I have so many freedoms and opportunities. We watched the Changing of the Guards while in the cemetery and this solemn scene shows how each person is honored no matter race, religion, or background and it was touching to think of the many people who have died and were not found or recognized officially. Each person is essential to the success and direction of this country. After the cemetery, we realized that this had been a very solemn day of sightseeing so we decided to go home for the day. We stopped by Costco on the way and that night we took it easy.

This Sunday I went to church at 8. :( I'm not a fan of church that early, but I'm getting used to it. Church was uplifting and the testimonies were wonderful! After church we came home and took naps, relaxed, then had some dinner at a friend's house. They had a potluck dinner and we met a few more people. We then went to the CES fireside broadcast and I caught a little bit of the talk on the Holy Ghost. I then went to bed early in preparation for another busy week.

Monday through Friday and Tuesday, January 9th-January 13th and January 17th

This entire week consisted of me getting a massive cold (I'm almost completely healed), getting accustomed to the classroom environment (I've almost learned all the rules), and getting more nervous about teaching (hopefully I will get over this). I feel as if I am growing and becoming a better teacher every day, but along the way there have been a few bumps. Tuesday for example was the day when one of my students turned to me and said, "I'm not afraid of you". Yikes! There were also a few other small management problems, but then today I had a student say, "Miss Herring, how is your hair so silky?" hahaha my hair silky? Wow! I also had the same student that scared me the first time say, "Miss Herring I'm afraid now because you can give me detention." (I promise I'm not trying to scare these children, I've never even mentioned detention.) hahaha It did make me feel better though. I had one student tell me that I look like Bella from Twilight. Ha! Kids say the darndest things :). I love that each day is new and I never know what to expect. I am going to start teaching this coming Friday and I can hardly wait. I learn so much from the students each day about staying consistent and upbeat.

We had the opportunity to go to Mount Vernon on Saturday and even though it was freezing, it was worth it. George Washington was truly inspired of God and prepared for what he was going to face. I don't want to picture what our country would be like without him. His plantation is fascinating and very organized. It reflects the type of man that he was in every aspect. We spent practically the entire day there and oddly enough ran into a member of the first quorum of the seventy while there. Elder Nash and one of the men over the Church History Museum in Salt Lake came up to me (I was wearing a BYU sweater) and they began talking to me about all the good I was doing. It was such a neat experience and exactly the boost I needed after my first experience in the schools. I love the glow that members of the church possess and the comfort this gave me while being away from anything in the norm.

Sunday, January 15th and Monday, January 16th

This Sunday we had a wonderful sacrament service and I felt bad sniffing through the entire thing, but I'm glad I got to go. I also got to renew my temple recommend where I was also presented with a calling in the ward. Wow! I didn't even know they had my records, but I'm excited to serve in the ward. I love being involved. (I can't tell what my calling is yet). After church I came home and took a good nap and later that evening, we went to a documentary night with a few members of the ward. Brett invited us and we watched a documentary on surfing (made in the 60s). It was hilarious and again it was fun to make a few more friends in the ward. Monday we didn't have school due to the National holiday of Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday. I woke up without an alarm, cleaned the apt, went to the gym, then did some homework before heading to bed. I love days like this!

Well, those are all the major parts of the past couple (well a few) days. I will post more in the future. I'm getting a bit sleepy, which might be because I woke up at 4:30 and ran! Fun times! :)

The past couple days!

Whoa! The last few days have flown by in a complete blur. I am starting to realize that I am going to have to blog at least once every other day to keep track of all of my experiences and findings. First of all, Monday I got to sleep in before heading to the gym with Karen. After our workout I made one final trip to Costco where I then came back and we joined the other girls to go to the National Museum of Natural History. We had the opportunity to see the Hope Diamond, animals, and many other exciting things! I would have to say my favorite part was the diamond collection. :) We then walked up around the Washington Monument to see it lit up at night. It was breathtaking! Once we got as close as possible to that amazing monument, we began to realize how cold we were and quickly headed home for the night.

Tuesday, January 3rd
Tuesday was our day to get fingerprinted and accepted into the DC Public Schools System. We went up to the official building around 10:30 and by about 2 pm we finally got home. But it was worth it because now we can begin teaching! I am so excited! We then had our first meeting with our coordinator at 3 and this is where we had an in-depth introduction into what we are going to experience while teaching. After this meeting was over we all were pretty worn out from our day and so the rest of the evening was spent either getting ready for bed (or the other girls went to the gym). :)

Wednesday, January 4th
Wednesday was my day to visit my future school. I am going to be teaching at Miner Elementary. I am teaching 2nd grade with Ms. Miner. I only had a brief introduction but I can hardly wait to teach. She seems extremely helpful and nice and the students were adorable. This is going to be such a great learning experience! After we had a tour of the school, we then headed to Duke Ellington High School of the Arts and had the opportunity to tour this school. I felt like I was on the set of Step Up! :) We then got to take a quick stop at the DC Cupcakes and had some of the most amazing cupcakes I've had in a while! They were delicious! I tried the red velvet and the Toasted Marshmallow. I prefer the Red Velvet for future references :). Our last stop was to School Without Walls and then we were able to head home. We then had another seminar to summarize what we experienced and then last night I made some delicious Chicken Parmesan for dinner and my roommates and I watched "Northanger Abbey" before heading to bed.

Thursday, January 5th
Today, I woke up at my leisure while the other students went on a tour to Wilson High School (I didn't need to go), after eating breakfast, cleaning, and getting all dressed up, we went to meet the group at Union Station for lunch (we didn't get lost under my directions) Yay! Stephanie and I were walking around Union Station looking for the perfect place to eat when a nice man gave us a sample of the most amazing sandwich I've had in DC! haha It was a chicken salad sandwich on this type of pita bread and when the man said that we would get free Gelato with our sandwich, I couldn't resist! I then had Chocolate Hazelnut gelato with my amazing sandwich and was ready to tour the Library of Congress. Our group headed over and after a brief meeting from our coordinator we went on a guided tour of the amazing library. I loved all of the symbolism and structures that can be found in this historic building. I couldn't stop taking pictures and I will only post a few of my favorites. After our touring, we then headed back home (again not getting lost), I think I am starting to figure out this metro thing. Once I got home I quickly came downstairs to blog! I couldn't wait anymore! I am going to get better about blogging so that I can provide some of the amazing details that I may pass over in my haste. Tonight we all need to get to bed early in order to be to our schools by 8 tomorrow morning for our first observations. I am so excited to begin! Ready or not, here I come! :)

My first Sunday.

Sunday was an extremely relaxing day, we woke up bright and early and headed to church. Our ward, "Colonial 1st Ward" is supposedly extremely social and huge! There are 3 relief societies and 2 elders quorums. Crazy! But I am very excited to be there, and the bishopric seems extremely friendly. We then came back, ate some delicious lunch, and took a 3 hour nap! Wow! After our naps and setting some New Year's Goals, we planned for a game night with a few other members of the ward and it turned out to be a success! We played a few games, had a few treats, and many great conversations occurred! I think I am going to like it here :). I have even had the opportunity to meet a few neighbors and they have all been extremely friendly. Thank goodness!

Day 2 Adventures!

Today, I woke up and decided it was time to get some real food. I walked across the street to Costco, and picked up some necessary items, and as much as I could hold. While in the store, I was leaning into the freezer to pick up a bag of chicken, when an African American woman came alongside my cart and said, "No, no, no, this is a not good. Do you know how easily you could have been robbed?" hahaha We were the only ones in the aisle and so I kind of laughed and said, "But I trust you!" :) She and I had a couple of good laughs and she gave me some good advice, but I was grateful for her help. I then carried my box of items back to my apartment and met up with the other girls to go to the Museums and the Mall.

We got out of the metro at the Smithsonian exit and this was the first thing I saw. Beautiful isn't it? There were people playing kickball, tourists, music, markets, and so much history I had to catch my breath!
After walking across the field, we decided to go to the National Museum of American History. We first saw the President's wives' dresses and then slowly went through each of the exhibits for a couple hours. It was so nice to not be in a hurry. The dress pictured above belongs to our current First Lady, Barack Obama's wife.

After walking around for awhile, we started getting hungry so we headed over to the Old Post Office to get some food. We passed by this guy playing the drums and he was amazing! We also passed by someone begging for money, and when we didn't give him any, we got a few choice words said to us which made us feel that we made the right decision. We continued on our journey for food until we got to this grand building pictured below for lunch. (I got a Turkey Avocado sandwich).We then ended the day by paying a visit to Julia Child's kitchen and then departed for home where we got ready for our New Year's Eve! My roommate, Karen McKay, had arrived and we went to the Stake Singles' Dance. It turned out to be a fun evening and we even met a few new faces.

First day in "the District"

I'm Here!!!As you can tell from my exciting title, I have now started learning the lingo in the Washington, D.C. area. Supposedly if you are a tourist, you say, "I'm going to D.C." but if you are actually from the area, you say, "I'm going to the District". This is just advice for all you future travelers.Well, I officially left at 6:00 am and began my four hour flight for Baltimore. The above picture was my first view of the area, and yes that is a river, not desert or snow! Yay! I arrived and found a nice attendant to help me with my luggage and to help direct me to the Shuttles. He was so helpful and I quickly was on my way to Virginia with a few other passengers including a man who was over the schoolwork for the athletes at Georgetown. We first dropped him off in College Park. We then moved on to the next couple who lived on Capitol Hill and the man worked with the Supreme Court in their religious affairs. He told me that he is close friends with Orrin Hatch and that he would love for a BYU student to come anytime! Awesome! After we dropped off this man and his wife, the driver, then took me to my apartment in Arlington, VA which is absolutely amazing! This is what I see from my window:Yes, that is the Pentagon! Well, after arriving and unpacking, I went over to the other apartment (because I was alone still) and we watched "Super 8". I couldn't believe how tired I was and I was very grateful to get into bed that night.

October 25th Happy Thoughts!

1. Today was my first day of practicum and I woke up ready for the day and excited to teach! I am in Mrs. Hadfield's 4th grade class this semester and the kids are awesome! I can already tell I am going to learn so much from the students and teacher. I also get to work with Jamie Hemingway and she is such a wonderful co-teacher.

2. During the day, perhaps the funniest moment came while we were studying the distributive property. We were discussing how distributing is like separating the numbers to make them simpler to work with, when one student raised her hand and said, "Oh! the distributive property is like when Hitler would separate the Jews and the Gentiles!" Then another student immediately responded with, "Are you Gentiles?" This type of Aha! moment was not what we were expecting or desiring from our initial lesson plan and luckily I did not have to be the one to regain composure to answer the question. I just quietly hid behind my notebook and stifled back a giggle. Good times in 4th grade!

3. I then got to go to work in the basketball office which is always one of my favorite activities. I love my jobs and the people I work with. I have always been extremely blessed when it comes to work and school and now I feel even more blessed because everything in my life is just clicking! Heavenly Father definitely knows what we need and when we need it.

4. After work I went to my Special Education class which was actually wonderful. We watched a church video called, "Teach the Children" and watching it made me grateful yet again to be attending BYU where we integrate the gospel into normal curriculum. I then went to my training and got to give a tour of the Marriott Center to my group. Basketball season is starting up and we are all extremely excited to get started!

5. Finally, I ended the night be watching the movie, "Robots" with one of my favorite people. ;) It was so relaxing to end this crazy day with a good movie, blanket, and company. I have such a wonderful life and I am loving every minute of it!

September 18th Happy Thoughts!

1. This morning I woke up and immediately welcomed my hometeachers who had come bringing a lesson, and some delicious stuffed french toast with homemade syrup. The lesson, the company, and the food was absolutely amazing and fulfilled every requirement of a home teacher haha. They are great guys and we are lucky to have them.

2. I then began getting ready for church when I receive a text message concerning ward council. It was 11:45 and ward council began at noon. I hadn't showered, or done anything to get ready for the day at the point so I decided it would be best to just plan on going to the next meeting. I didn't want to be such a distraction to ward council by showing up late, smelling, and being completely frazzled. ;) (Oh I love that word).

3. I then went to church which was wonderful as always. I have an amazing ward this semester.

4. After church I came home and made some delicious chocolate chip cookies with mini-chocolate chips which I think might be becoming my favorite type! haha Lora and I then brought these to our visiting teachees and introduced ourselves finally!

5. That evening I was able to visit with people in my ward at ward prayer which is always one of my favorite activities. We get to just laugh, mingle, and sometimes have delicious treats. I ate way too many yesterday so I think I need a break from that at least for a day ;). It was a beautiful day!

August 3rd Happy Thoughts!

1. Today I slept in till 9 o'clock which is becoming a habit that I need to break before I begin school again. :)

2. After work I ran to the post office and mailed off every last piece of homework for my Children's Literature class!!! Now I only have to take the test and then this class that I have been procrastinating for over a year will be over! Oh happy day!

3. I then came home and watched Fever Pitch which is a pretty cute show (that I usually fast-forward to my favorite parts).

4. Kelcey Herring then called me and we went shopping at Costco with her ward for their food supplies for their upcoming ward campout/boating trip. They spent over $2100 on food alone! Awesome right? I think I might need to crash their ward activity. haha

5. After this fun shopping trip, I came home and turned on Leap Year. This is an even better show than Fever Pitch. (Meaning there was not much fast-forwarding that took place). You may wonder why I was watching so many movies, but this was all part of my celebration for finishing my online class. I am so excited about that!

Hello my dear friends and family. Yes it has been a long time since I blogged once again! I really am going to be better because life is good! :) (Not that it was bad during those months I didn't post.) haha

1. First, I just got back from the 24th of July Celebration in SJ. It was such a blast but the highlight of the trip was dancing with my dad at the family dance. I am now a believer that my dad is a fantastic dancer! :) Best dance ever!

2. Next, the food was phenomenal! Every morning I would wake up to my mom's homemade cinnamon rolls which are in one word, "todiefor". :) Okay maybe that should be 3 words but there is not one word to fit how amazing these rolls are. The rest of the food was also amazing and I ate as much as I could :).

3. I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but I have one amazing family. They are funny, smart, kind, fun, spiritual, talented, mannerly, and quite good-looking. They as my grandma would say, "have it all". ;) I love them. This is yet another reason why my weekend was wonderful. I was able to just about all of them! (I can't wait to see Matt and his family in 3 weeks).

4. Saint Johns was exciting to visit because it is growing so fast. We now have a Gas'n'go, an El Cupido's, and a Subway! Can you believe it?! haha I love my small town and wouldn't trade it for the world. Everyone knows each other, everyone helps, and everyone has a smile on their face. I love the feel of a small town.

5. Overall this weekend was beautiful and perfect starting with the ice cream social (I only had 2 cones), to the final swimming party with the family. I enjoyed every aspect and can't wait to do it again next year. Thank you to everyone who put it together! Also thank you to the pioneers who founded this amazing town and helped establish traditions of faith, family, and friends.

May 28th Happy Thoughts!

1. Wow it has been a long time since I last blogged, but today was such a fantastic day I couldn't pass up the opportunity! First of all, I woke up and got to go to breakfast at Magleby's with some friends from the ward including: Lora, Melissa, Brandon, Matt, and Mike. We got unlimited pancakes and french toast for $5.19. Amazing right? Well, after one plate I was through. Of course it did include 3 pancakes and a truly adorable muffin and Mike definitely surpassed the rest of the crew with an astounding 3 plates. Way to go! I will be returning to this beautiful place again someday :).

2.) Next, we were all tired from using so much energy at such an early hour (of 8:30) that we decided to come back and take a nap. I must say, it was one of the best naps I have ever experienced. Not only was I tired, but my stomach was full and I had no worries or concerns about a checklist for the day. The day was mine!

3.) After my 2 hour nap, I woke up and decided to go on a run. Well, this was not going to be any normal run. I am planning on running a half-marathon next weekend and so today I planned on running as far as I could and if possible 13 miles. Well, I completed my 13 miles and even though I am in utter pain now, it was totally worth it then. I now feel that I am going to be able to complete the half-marathon and today's run was just the boost I needed to give me the confidence I need for the race.

4.) After my run, Candace, Lora, and I drove to Costco where I bought some delicious noodles and fruit snacks. Yes, I am a big spender :). I love Costco and even though we missed the food samples, it was still a fun trip.

5.) After Costco, we came back and had a BBQ with some friends in the ward. The food, company, and conversation was outstanding and I couldn't have asked for a better way to spend my Saturday night. We were all in tears by the end because of a few embarrassing stories, dating experiences, and other memories being shared. Today turned out to be lovely even though the sun was not shining and it did rain a bit. After all, the sun will come out, tomorrow! (Hopefully!) :)

Happy Thoughts while working.

I just have to brag a little bit about the basketball game that I worked yesterday. First of all, I work in the hallway directing the players, VIP guests, and the Court side seats. I get to direct people and talk to them. I love welcoming people to the game and getting to know them. I also love getting to know the workers at the Marriott Center. These little old men are so wonderful and they are the biggest confidence boosters. One always calls me "Babe", another always gives me a hug, and another gives me Gummy Bears each game. So back to the story, I was standing the hallway and who should walk up, but Elder Nelson! This is not the first game he has come to, but this time I got to talk to him for a bit. Love it! President Samuelson also shook my hand.

Next it was Elder Perry's turn. He came up and grabbed my clipboard while saying, "What's on your clipboard?" Of course I handed him the clipboard and sheepishly said, "Important stuff." I am talking to an Apostle of the Lord and the only words I can utter are "Important stuff?" I really need to work on that. :) But luckily he just kind of chuckled and understood that I was a little intimidated.

Next, Steven R. Covey came up to me and shook my hand, that would have been enough, but he went further on and said, "You are beautiful." He had throngs of people surrounding him and he took the time to make my day. I truly appreciated his comment.

I got to tell each of the players good luck before the game including Jimmer Fredette which is pretty fun and I am friends with the coaches now. I also got to direct two of the Utah Jazz players. Deron Williams and C.J. Miles. Cool huh? I can't believe how lucky I am to have this job.

After things calmed down and a bit and the game started, I was alone in the hallway which in and of itself is scary, but then along came Cosmo, the school mascot. He didn't just walk toward me like a normal person, oh no, he lurked and crept along the wall and got closer to me everytime I looked away. Freaky right? haha I didn't know whether to laugh or run away, but then he pounced and wrapped his arms around me and gave me a huge hug haha. It was so funny! I knew nothing bad would happen, but now I can say, Cosmo hugged me :).

Another cool thing was, when this older man walked by and said, "Lavell is not going to make it tonight." I didn't know I was on a first name basis with Lavell Edwards! Sweet!

Finally my shift was over and I got to go out on the floor and watch the second half of the game on the floor! It was awesome! I love my job. :) Okay I am finished bragging now. I am excited for the next game! Go Cougars!

January 17th Happy Thoughts!

1.) I have now written down my New Year's Resolutions and one of them included, blogging regularly. :) Today, I got to sleep in till 10! It was beautiful!

2.) Once I woke up I got to make Banana Bread and it turned out amazing except for the piece that stuck to the pan ;).

3.) I then went back to my room and listed my New Year's Resolutions. I made a cute picture for my wall to remind me and I am excited to see how long they last. :)

4.) I then began the arduous task of homework. I have completed one assignment that took me 5 hours and I am so glad to have that out of the way. I hope I can stay on task this semester.

5.) Tonight we decided to have a birthday party for Meagan. She is our roommate from Virginia and she is awesome! We had Pepperoni and Chicken Bacon Artichoke pizza which was quite delicious. We then had some cake and it turned out to be an amazing experience! haha

November 8th Happy Thoughts!

1.) Today seemed like the perfect and much needed day to write down the 5 things that made me happy/grateful for today. It seemed to be an extremely stressful day to the point where I found myself saying, "Just get through today and tomorrow will be better." This turned out to be very comforting and got me through all the curve balls of the day. When I found out that I am going to have to stay up here Spring Semester for one class, I realized that it was my own fault for not taking that class sooner and I also realized that Heavenly Father has been blessing me with many job opportunities to help pay for the extra rent and class that I otherwise would not have to spend money on. There are blessings around every corner. You sometimes just don't realize it.

2.) I then went to my drama class and the teacher said that my lesson plan was nearly perfect and that she had to be truly nit-picky to find even one slight error. I was grateful for her compliments and it made me have hope in my teaching career.

3.) I then went to the MTC where I spilt two entire trays of pickles and the entire kitchen area smelled. This was not the best way to end the shift but I stopped and realized that the situation was actually funny. I was able to clean up the mess, laugh it off, and a girl gave me a ride back to campus which was yet another blessing so that I wouldn't have to walk in the rain. Yay!

4.) I next went to work for an hour and got a lot accomplished and realized that I had a quiz in my next class that I hadn't even looked at. Lovely! I faced it though, and I actually got quite a few right because the teacher was lenient and a girl in the health class gave everyone smoothies. They were delicious and I was blessed yet again with everything I needed.

5.) Finally I went to FHE where we had a service auction and I won chocolate chip pumpkin cookies from some girls in the ward (my favorite kinds of cookies) and also a dessert from the 2nd Counselor's wife. I can't wait to eat them after Thanksgiving! (I have given up sugar until Thanksgiving). :) It has been hard but totally worth it. I have discovered will power I never knew I had.

So overall, I have an amazing life and I am being blessed in ways I never thought possible. I am so excited to see what tomorrow will bring.

1.) Today was yet another very productive day, I leisurely woke up and made some delicious waffles, (my favorite Saturday morning activity).

2.) Next, I went on a nice run of 9 miles! Can you believe it? Yup, this is still Anna Herring talking. 9 MILES! I didn't think it was possible, but it felt amazing and I got a nice farmers tan :).

3.) After my run, Lora and I decided to pretend to be engaged and went to the Bridal Fair. I love to do this every year and it is fun to see the many things that go into a wedding. We even got free crepes, cotton candy, cake, BBQ food, and Cafe Rio's Tres Leches. Yum! It was a blast!

4.) After this we came home to get some homework done but quickly decided to go check out the cute little boutique down the street that has every accessory imaginable. It has hats, scarves, necklaces, rings, bracelets, earrings, clothes, .... I could go on, but I think you have to see it to believe it. It was so fun to look around and dream of the day when we could shop there. :)

5.) After this we again attempted homework but decided a movie would be best, so we got our free movie passes and grabbed Melissa, Kelcey, and Markie and went to see "Life as We Know It". It was a fun show to see with the girls and then after we went to the creamery and got a carton of graham canyon ice cream and 5 spoons. You know what happened next... We finished the entire box and laughed about it till our stomachs had worked off the calories gained. I love life!

So yesterday I was trying to become more technologically advanced and create a blog entry on my iPod, but I realized that I need more practice, :) it is hard work to stay up to date with all the new technology!

1.) Today was the most productive day I've had in a long time. First of all I woke up and went to the temple which was wonderful!

2.) Next I came home and cleaned the entire upstairs of my house and did laundry. There is nothing like clean clothes and house. Mmmm...

3.) After cleaning I did all my training for work which was so nice to get out of the way. Now I don't have to stress anymore about that aspect of my life. :) (Now I can focus on school more).

4.) I then made chicken and rice for the relief society retreat, which if I don't say so myself turned out quite delicious for the Hawaiian Haystacks.

5.) Finally I went to the retreat which turned out to be a blast! We had an amazing dinner, dessert, company, games, snacks, and speaker. The lesson was on self-worth and was exactly what I needed to hear. I love my ward! I am adding two pictures this week, because I liked both :)

1.) So, today was a wonderful day. I woke up at 6 to go finish up my art project (I am a major procrastinator, but I am trying to overcome it :)). I was able to finish it and it turned out amazing! I am so happy.

2.) I then went to my drama class and then work at the MTC. I love this job, I feel like it is a great service and opportunity.

3.) I then went to my other job on campus as the SACretary :). Cute name huh? I got some work finished there and then I went to my art class.

4.) My teacher even gave us pizza during our art class! I love it! We are learning a ton, having fun and even eating some. :) (I couldn't stop rhyming).

5.) I then stopped by the Mr. BYU pageant and then came home to relax. I have discovered something delicious, it is a chocolate and peanut butter covered pretzel put out by Flipz. One word, Yum!

1.) Today I woke up at approximately 5:40 to do some homework. Yikes! I am surprised I was able to get up but I was very grateful I did. I was able to finish a bunch of homework that I wasn't able to do Saturday and I even got to campus early.

2.) I then went to my drama class where we discussed our homework assignments and I was glad that we didn't have many activities planned. It was actually nice to just sit and discuss drama instead of acting out everything.

3.) Next I went to the MTC and got to serve the missionaries some delicious Taco Salad. It looked delicious and the missionaries were very grateful.

4.) After this I went to my other job on campus, then to my health class where the fire alarm went off (how exciting) and then I came home and ran 5 miles. What a fantastic day!

5.) For FHE we went to the Bishop's house where we then drove across the street to the Payson football field to play a game of football. I quickly found my place in the stands with about 10 other girls and we guarded the brownies and ice cream, where somehow 11 bowls of ice cream and brownies went missing. Heehee.. Shh.. They were delicious. :)

1.) Sorry I missed yesterday, but today was a fantastic day, I woke up and got to go to church. I woke up 45 minutes late, but I still made it on time, yay! Oh and yesterday I ran my 1st 10k and then I worked at the football game for 6 hours. Needless to say, my legs hate me and I slept very well last night (probably the same reason I slept in so long.)

2.) Church was amazing and my ward is so fun. I love the lessons and the talks that are given every Sunday. This week it was all about getting us ready for conference.

3.) After church I went to choir practice then I headed home where I ate a huge lunch and then settled down for my long Sunday nap.

4.) My nap was very refreshing and for dinner I made a delicious batch of waffles. Ooh and my roommates made cookies. I love their cookies and cookie dough. Yum!

5.) After dinner I got to Skype with my family which was wonderful, and then I went to ward prayer. Ward prayer as always was amazing and they even had cake tonight, even though I couldn't eat it because I was a little full from cookies and waffles. What a lovely day it was! :)

1.) Today I didn't have any classes so I woke up and got to go running with Kiara, we did a short run of about 3 miles and got to talk. I love these runs and it was a nice break from my normal 5 or 6. I can't believe I am able to run this much considering last year I had never run more than 1.

2.) I then came back and began my laundry and some homework. It was nice to get a few of the little worries out of the way so that this coming week will be less hectic. I love not having class on Friday.

3.) After this I went to the Museum of Art on campus and got to explore all of the paintings. I was to choose my favorite one and then I get to write a paper on it for my Art class. Well, I was drawn to about 3 paintings and after looking over them, I realized they all had a very similar main idea. They all had a woman in a white dress which as I studied represented the virtue and refinement of an American woman. I love this idea and I now have a topic for my paper. I am actually excited to write it!

4.) I then went to a poster sell and I got a Norman Rockwell painting, (one of my favorites) and a book with William Shakespeare's complete sonnets. I am excited to read it!

5.) Tonight Lora and I decided on a whim to hike the Y. It was such a good decision! We went and brought treats (some popcorn and M&Ms, and some chocolate and peanut butter covered pretzels (the best thing on the Earth!)), and some music and a camera and we were off! We had a fun hike but by the end our legs were feeling it. haha I think I worked off all of the treats we ate. :)

1.) Today I woke up and ran 5 miles which was a fantastic way to start off the day. It felt great!

2.) I then came back and went to my music class and I always love this class, I had music and math today which both went well. I am loving my classes this semester.

3.) I got to go to a presentation by Sterling and Chris today during lunch. They did a fantastic job talking about Honor and the spirit was so strong. They are both outstanding guys and great leaders for our school. Oh and the brownies after the presentation were amazing!

4.) I then went to work for a few hours and accomplished a ton! Yay! Tonight I got to work at the MTC doing custodial work in the kitchen. Remind me to never sign up for this shift again, I spent just about 3 hours cleaning out drains and mopping. Yuck! haha but the crew was funny and I got a cookie at the end. :)

5.) Last I came home, went to a dance party, dyed Lora's hair and ate some ice cream. I love days like this, ooh I don't have school tomorrow, Yay!

1.) Today I woke up early to go to campus and work on my group lesson plan with Kaelie and Lynsey. Our lesson plan was then taught to the class and I feel like it was a success. I am very grateful for all of the applicable lessons I am learning this year.

2.) I then went to the MTC and was a server today. I got to feed the missionaries Philly Cheese steak sandwiches. Even though I have no idea how to spell what they ate I am sure they tasted good. Yum!

3.) After the MTC I came back to campus with one girl that I work with because it was pouring rain! I was so grateful for the ride she gave me and I am sure the people at BYUSA did too.

4.) While at my second job today, I got so much done! I was able to accomplish all the tasks they gave me and even got ahead in some areas. I love days like this.

5.) I then came home, relaxed, ran about 2 miles, ate some dinner, showered, and had a wonderful evening at home. It turned out to be a wonderful day!

1.) Today has been a wonderful day, I woke up at 8 and got to leisurely get ready for the day. I love mornings like this.

2.) I then went to my music class which is always a joy. My teacher is this cute little old man and today he told us about our upcoming project which is putting together a Children's Music Book. Fun huh?! I am excited.

3.) I then went and finished writing my dance for my dance class which if I don't say so myself went pretty well. Yay! I am so glad this stress is over and now I can breath :).

4.) After dance I came home and got to watch "Pushing Daisies" which is one of my favorite shows. It was a nice end of the day treat.

5.) At the end of the day, I ate some delicious chocolate chip cookie ice cream with my roommates and I felt quite complete. It was a crazy, but fun day and I am glad I was able to finish everything on time!

1.) Today I woke up early to get ready for my New Student Orientation Training, or NSO training. I am excited to do this, and I think it is mainly going to be like a less spiritual EFY. :) Fun times!

2.) While at the training, we got free t-shirts, breakfast, lunch and we are going to get a lot of experiences during the orientation. It should be fun, hopefully. :)

3.) Next I came back and went and picked up Lora and Candace and we went and got some delicious bread from Great Harvest, the girl even gave me a free piece! Awesome!

4.) After this, Lora and I came back and I ran 5 miles. I am trying to get back into the swing of exercising, it is sure hard once you stop.

5.) Lora and I then went to see Letters to Juliet at the dollar theatre which is an adorable romantic comedy and after this, went and got ice cream with Kyle and Candace at Macey's. I guess my 5 miles didn't do much haha, but it was a lot of fun.

1.) Today I woke up and was able to go to my orientation for the MTC job. This just made me even more excited and it is going to be such a great experience. I love the spirit that is there.

2.) I then came back and helped some more roommates move in and our house now has all 9 girls. They seem really nice and I hope this will be a great semester.

3.) Jeff Webb and I then went swimming and got to just hang out for about an hour which was a blast! I even got a little sunburned :).

4.) Next I went to campus and bought a book and rewarded myself by getting a tiny ice cream, my favorite is Graham Canyon from the creamery in a waffle cone. Best $1.60 I ever spent :) I love it so much!

5.) Then Lora and I went to get her a desk and came back to FHE where we read poems. It sounds a little crazy, but it ended up being a blast! There were some funny guys there too which made it even more fun. After this Lora and I went to see Kelly and Stephanie and it turned out to be a great day.

1.) Today I woke up at my leisure and looked around at my new room in the morning light. It is beautiful and I love it! The bright blue walls reflected the sunlight and gave me hope that this was going to be a great day and place to live. I love it!

2.) I then ate some delicious oatmeal just like I would do at home and then got ready for church in my purple bathroom. Awesome I know!

3.) Church was wonderful and the ward seems like it is going to be a lot of fun. There were a few great new faces to meet :) and it should be a good year.

4.) I then came home from church and had a fruit smoothie, turned on a great Sunday movie, Becoming Jane, and then got to know my roommates by decorating and eating lasagna. Yum! It was a wonderful afternoon and the more I am in this house, the more I love it!

5.) We then went to Ward Prayer and that was fun but on the way back we realized that we have some amazing tree-climbing trees and Melissa came by to see the rest of our house. We got to just talk and laugh for a while and hopefully this house will be the place where everyone wants to come when they want a break from school.

1.) I figured that no one would be expecting me to blog considering I have only recently moved into my house, but I am! Yay! I love Wifi! And yes you read right, I am living in a house in Provo now for the school year. Weird, but I am excited.

2.) Today was a long day of shopping, moving, stressing, lifting and organizing, but I made it through and I only have one more box to go and then I am pretty much finished. Phew!

3.) This morning was a wonderful morning because I was able to eat breakfast at Denny's with my parents and they are just amazing. They drove all the way up to Utah yesterday evening and night, didn't get here till 2 in the morning and then drove home today. I hope they know how much I appreciate and will miss them. I love you!

4.) I then had to say goodbye, and I headed for the store to begin the huge shopping splurge which, to tell you the truth, I was dreading. It is always the biggest shopping trip of the year and I was not ready. I slowly made my way through the aisles of toilet paper, shampoos, chicken, juice, and of course I took a glimpse down the treat aisle. But actually it turned out to not be as bad as I expected. I stuck to my budget and menu and bought everything I needed and I feel great! It definitely got me more prepared for this semester.

5.) Once I finished shopping, I got to come back and unpack! I began this task with high hopes that it would go quickly and everything would work out perfectly, but of course reality set in and finally I looked at the clock, 10:00! Where did the time go?! :) But this house is slowly becoming my home away from home and I am looking forward to this year. Who knows what lies in store? Hopefully it goes better than my unpacking :).

1.) Today I went to work in a hurry, I woke up late and luckily my mom woke me up. I drove while eating my oatmeal and barely made it on time, but I did it! Yay!

2.) While at work, the morning was crazy busy and then the afternoon slowed down enough for all the workers to have a solitaire and airplane throwing contest. I totally almost won the solitaire contest, and completely lost the airplane throwing contest, who would have thought?! hahaha okay I have to admit, I am not a skilled paper airplane maker. I will have to practice.

3.) I then got off early to go to Candace's baby shower. It was so much fun to see her and many other friends. I am excited for her and she got a lot of cute stuff. Oh and the food was lovely. :)

4.) I then came home and went on a run. (Probably to counteract what I ate ;). It felt great to run and I am feeling more in shape now than when I began.

5.) After the run I came home and got gas then took a wonderful shower. But even better than the shower was laying on the trampoline with my mom and dad and seeing 2 shooting stars. This is one of my favorite summer activities which we haven't done once! I am going to do it every night this next week even though I seem to attract every mosquito. Yikes! It is so worth it though, the stars are so beautiful and it is so peaceful. I love my life!

1.) Today I went to work where I got to help Cherie with her handouts for her lesson. This may sound not very fun, but I absolutely had a blast! I love doing cutting and gluing crafts and another perk was getting to eat the extras. :) Chocolate Covered Cinnamon Bears. This is one of the things I miss about BYU. They are divine! :) If you haven't tried them, you must.

2.) I then went home and had some of my dad's amazing pancakes, eggs, bacon, and hot chocolate dinner. It is one of my favorites and we usually have this every Friday night. Since this was my final Friday night home, I savored every bite (as I inhaled it) :). Thank you Dad!

3.) Mom, Marisa Brown, Kelly Badger, and I then drove to Show Low to see "Charlie St. Cloud".

4.) The movie was interesting, there were a lot of unanswered questions, but it was very thought-provoking. Although, it had a good message of overcoming death. It makes me want to read the book to see if some of the questions become clear. I also think Zac Efron helped me enjoy the movie even more. :) He is pleasant on the eyes. haha

5.) We then went to Wal-Mart and got some adorable outfits for Candace's twins and then we went to McDonald's for free Smoothies. (The perks of having a mom as a teacher) They were delectable.

1.) Today was just an normal day in my super amazing life, which happens to me my favorite kind of day. I got to eat oatmeal in the morning while watching the today show with my mom (one of our favorite activities), I came home during lunch and saw my cute father asleep on the couch, then after work I came home to both my dad and mom asking me how my day was. I have been so blessed to have such an amazing mother and father. Love you!

2.) I then got to watch "So You Think You Can Dance" with my mom and Lauren won! I would have been happy with Kent, but Lauren was also very talented. Fun times, now I just have to wait to watch it next year.

3.) I have been realizing lately that I am going back up to school next week, and even though I am super excited to get back to friends, a social life, and new adventures, I know I am going to miss family, home life, and my wonderful summer. Everything has its positive sides though, everything will be great when I get back up to school and I need to enjoy this last week to the fullest!

4.) I got to bandage a cut on my finger today with super glue, I feel like a true blue Feed Store worker now :)

5.) I love my life! Have I ever said that before? Just wanted to let you know ;)

1.) Today I woke up early and got ready to drive to Thatcher, I was excited to see everyone and to go to Jack's baptism.

2.) Kortlynn came with us and it was so nice to just sleep in the car, once we got there we had a huge luncheon with delicious Spanish food. Yum! I could eat that all day (and I pretty much did). :)

3.) After eating, we went over to the church and Jack was baptized. It was a wonderful baptism and I got to lead the music.

4.) We then went back to the Dodge's house and had a swimming party while eating dessert. It was so much fun even though I was worried about 50 kids under the age of 3 in the pool haha I might be exaggerating a little bit, but it was crazy!

5.) We then drove home and my funniest thought for the day happened when a bug hit our windshield. My dad turned to us and said, "That bug won't have the guts to do that again." hahaha he is so punny! :) Hope July was a great month for you, welcome August!

1.) Today I got to sleep in a little bit which was nice and then I headed to my last day of work this week. Tomorrow I get to go to Jack's baptism and then Monday and Tuesday I get to see Matt, Tammy and Gideon! Yay!

2.) While at work, Rick and Melinda came in, two of my favorite customers, and Rick kissed my hand. He is the coolest cowboy and Melinda is the sweetest lady you will ever meet. They are just awesome! I will miss them.

3.) After work I came home and ran my 4 miles. Woohoo! It was a really good run and now I feel great, gotta love the endorphins. :)

4.) Ooh! During lunch I went to a yard sale at my neighbor's house and got some amazing books. I got a few classics and a few fun ones. I am excited to read them and have them in my library.

5.) While running I got to talk to Kortlynn for a second. She is so funny and I am glad to have her as a niece. I truly have the most amazing nieces and nephews ever! :) Love you guys!

1.) Wow! Has it really been 20 days since my last post? Summer is flying by which at first I was excited about, but now I am trying to treasure every moment. I am not ready for school to start again and to have to get back to real life. I love waking up early with nothing to worry about except to go to work then come home and relax. I love summer!

2.) Today I went on my little run, and while running I could hear the cows mooing to each other. It was so refreshing and made me smile.

3.) I then went to work and cleaned the store. You wouldn't believe how much more dirt comes in because of the rain. I sweep everyday, and everyday there is a fresh layer of dirt to be swept. I don't mind it though, I like having something to do.

4.) During work it began to rain, not just any kind the rain though, the heaviest that I have ever seen in Saint Johns or pretty much ever! It was amazing and made the whole store seem more like a little cozy corner instead of a workplace. I loved it!

5.) After work I came home and took a nice long, hot shower then began my homework. I am a little bit of a procrastinator, but I am trying to overcome that weakness. It is hard! But at least I got to have a break from my homework by watching "So You Think You Can Dance". I was very pleased with the results tonight. Goodbye Billy and Jose! Yay for Lauren! Although all three were fantastic dancers, I was ready for those boys to go.

1.) Today I got to go to work which was fun! We got a few shipments in today which is always exciting to unpack and price. It may sound like I am being sarcastic, but I actually look forward to these days. It makes projects to be completed and makes work go by super fast.

2.) After work my dad had made his delicious pancakes which turned out amazing! Thank you dad!

3.) Next I went and got my hair cut by Chanda Shreeve and even though we didn't cut much off, it was still enough to make me feel 100 times better.

4.) I then came home and found a ton of old pictures and music on my parent's old computer which I was excited to find. I love looking at old pictures.

5.) Lastly I got to talk to my sister, Orinda, for a while which was fun. She is so funny and I was glad I was able to keep her company on her drive to Phoenix. :) Oh and don't mind my random picture today, I couldn't think of any other one to put up.

1.) Today I woke up and went running while listening to one of my new favorite songs by Shakira haha called "Waka Waka". It is awesome and the perfect running song!

2.) I then went to work which went well and it was just a fun day. I even got to make a beautiful hanging basket of flowers :)

3.) After work I came home to a delicious meal of Hawaiian Haystacks (one of my favorites) and then Strawberry Shortcake for dessert. Yum!

4.) I then finished another book in my long list for my Children's literature class called "The Book of Three". It is a fantasy book and I am not much into those but it was okay.

5.) I then go to watch my show :) and sadly Alex has been kicked off. I was for sure he would win it until he got injured. Next year he will have to come back and win the whole thing! :)

1.) Today I woke up and ended up working a few hours which worked out great because it got me going and I came back at noon to my day off. :)

2.) My mom and I then went to Show Low to run a few errands and went to see "Knight and Day". I got this free poster too! Wonderful!

3.) Next we got to go to Home Depot and Wal Mart which is always fun and then I branched out and got a Teriyaki Chicken Bowl at Jack in the Box, ya I was pretty daring.

4.) We then drove home and I ended up getting a ton of free songs for the new USB that mom bought. I love special deals :)

5.) We ended the night by watching "So You Think You Can Dance" and were just a little disappointed that Alex wasn't able to dance. I personally think that one of the other dancers must have hurt him on purpose because he would have won hahaha just kidding. Have a great day!

1.) Today I woke up and went to work which was wonderful as always, the guy that passes out Dove chocolates even came in which made today perfect! :) Chocolate always makes things better.

2.) After work I came home and had a delicious dinner of ham and potatoes. This is one of my favorite meals so life just got better.

3.) I then got to watch "Eclipse" finally which I completely loved and it was fun to watch with my mom. We love the same types of movies. Hint Hint Chick Flicks :)

4.) I then got to check out classes and scheduling for next semester and realized that my goals are coming to life. I love when things work out and it is weird that my schooling is just about half way finished.

5.) Today was just a great day, don't ask me why but everything seemed to work out. Oh and Orinda congrats on passing all your tests! I knew you could do it, you are awesome! Oh and you are also an official teacher, Yay!

1.) Today I woke up and ran 3 miles! It was the hardest thing to do, but worth it!

2.) I then went to work where I got to clean the store and meet some interesting people :)

3.) After work I came home and the first thing my nephew, Cody, asked me was, "Are you a woman?" haha how do you respond to that? hahaha it was hilarious.

4.) For dinner we had some delicious Grilled Cheese Sandwiches and tomato soup, one of my favorites ooh and for lunch Rayne and I had Pizza Monday so we ordered a large Pepperoni Pizza which was amazing!

5.) Tonight we watched Toy Story 3 which is also amazing and I actually cried at the end. I love Pixar and hope to see many more movies produced through this company.

1.) Today I woke up and made some delicious no-bake cookies for my ward break-the-fast. I am so glad they turned out considering I wasn't able to taste them until we got there.

2.) I was asked to talk in church next week on pioneers, if anyone has any ideas, I would love them!

3.) I then came home and went to check on the dogs that I am dog sitting this weekend and the mom dog's chain was stuck on the lawn mower, so I untangled her and immediately she went over, drank a ton of water, and went to her newborn pups to feed them. It is amazing to me that these animals have the instinct to take care of their kids. It was awesome!

4.) I came home and started watching Sense and Sensibility which is one of my all time favorite movies. I love the end where Emma Thompson begins to cry because Edward is not marrying the other girl. I love happy endings!

5.) Tonight my mom and I got to enjoy some delicious artichokes with mayonnaise. If you have not experienced this yet, I suggest you do so soon! They are yummy.

1.) So yes I have once again become a slacker, but I am trying to get on track. Today I woke up at 5:30 to the sound cannonballs! In Saint Johns for the 4th they shoot of cannonballs at the park 13 times to signify the 13 original colonies. (Although today it seemed that there were 50) haha. They seemed to go on forever, but I was quickly back to sleep and got to sleep in till 8! What a beautiful day. :)

2.) I then went and fed and watered a ladies dogs for her while she is out of town and they are super cute! I think this is the best situation because I get to baby them for a few minutes then go back home without having to clean up after them. It is the best of both worlds.

3.) My mom came home from Thatcher and then we all went down to the program, free luncheon, snow cones, and races at the park. It was a beautiful day and everything was perfect except for the lack of Cracker Jack boxes for the races.

4.) We then came back to my house for watermelon and Aunt Mary's family was able to come which was wonderful!

5.) I then got to go see Knight and Day which I particularly liked but some people might not, and then I went and saw some amazing fireworks! Happy Fourth of July everyone! Oh and sorry about the random picture, I was using a different computer and couldn't upload fireworks so I figured a pretty flower would work in its place :).

1.) Today has been a wonderful day, I started out by hearing a cute little voice whispering, "Aunt Anna", "Aunt Anna". It was the perfect alarm clock and Kortney looked adorable in her Cinderella nightgown. I am going to try and find one in my size while I am at Disneyland this next week. :)

2.) Next we got to go to church was fabulous! I love this ward and I always feel at home there. We got to hear talks on service, lessons about Ruth, and the Savior. It was a great day.

3.) After church we had some delicious leftover Papa John's pizza and pretzels. Yum! We had a blast staying with the Welch's and they wished us luck on our journey. :)

4.) We then drove about 4.5 hours which consisted of sleeping, talking, laughing and anticipating California!

5.) Once we got here, we fell in love with our rooms. Both of the rooms have a king size bed, a flat screen tv, our own balcony or as we call it "Terrace", and beautiful furniture and art. I love it! It feels like a little home away from home and the weather is perfect. It is going to be a fun week!

1.) Wow, once again I am falling victim to summer days. I promise I am still looking for happy thoughts on the days that I don't write any. :) Today we got new chicks in the store which is always fun. They are always cute when they are little.

2.) After work I finally got registered for Children's literature at BYU. The computer kept on messing up and the courses weren't adding up right, but now I am looking forward to a summer of reading picture books and a few exciting books like Harry Potter and Tuck Everlasting.

3.) My mom and I then watched "So You Think You Can Dance" which showed the top ten dancers. This year should be a good one!

4.) I have a new favorite song, "Dance Forever" by Allstar Weekend. It is kind of techno but so much fun to dance to. A rough version is on my playlist if you want to listen to it. (Warning: you might just get up an dance without helping it.) ;)

5.) I get to go to California in about 4 days! Ahh! I can't wait!

1.) Today we got out flowers in the store and this is just always a happy thought. I love seeing the greenhouse get filled with all the vibrant colors and smell the new aromas. I love my job!

2.) After work I got to go to a barbeque at Mike and Kim's house for Chandon's graduation. The food and the company were amazing.

3.) We then went to Chandon's graduation which was the perfect length and really fun to watch. Congrat's Chandon!

4.) Orinda got a job in Thatcher! This new information made my day, week and pretty much month! I am so excited for her even though I am going to miss her tons.

5.) Tonight we watched "So You Think You Can Dance" I am excited for this new season. I love dancing shows and wish I could dance like some of the people on the show.

1.) After work today I got to have an amazing meal of spaghetti and veggies. It was so delicious and the french bread made it perfect! Thank you mom!

2.) We then got to watch Karate Kid which is always a fun classic. It makes me want to learn self-defense.

3.) Next we helped Orinda begin her big move. She is moving to Thatcher to hopefully teach and I am going to miss her. It will be wonderful though for her.

4.) Mom and I then watched the final episode of the 9th season of American Idol and the contestant that we wanted actually won! Yay! Although this season was not as talented as previous seasons. Hopefully So You Think You Can Dance will be better.

5.) Oh and my oatmeal this morning was especially delicious. I love my life! Summer is pretty much here!

1.) Today was a fairytale :) or at least that song was in my head today. :) I love that song and so it made today fun. I always have songs running through my head and throughout the day different things will remind me of new songs and then suddenly without warning I will begin humming them. I love it!

2.) After work I came home and had a delicious dinner of ham and potatoes. My mom makes the world's greatest ham and so I couldn't help but eat a ton. I love having home-cooked meals for a little while, hopefully when I head back up to college I can begin making my own.

3.) I then went and got smoothies with Lora and Marisa. Not just any smoothies though, these smoothies were from the new pizza place in SJ and they are amazing! Wow! One word, Yum!

4.) Lora, Marisa, and I then got to talk for a while about all the exciting news in our lives. Yup, contrary to popular belief, SJ is a very exciting town :).

5.) I then got to watch Glee! This episode was just okay, no amazing music or story line, but mainly a filler. Hopefully there will be better music and plot next week, although they did some fun tunes from Lady Gaga.

1.) I slept in till 6:45 today which was wonderful, it seems very strange to me that 6:45 is considered sleeping in hahaha.

2.) While at work we got a new ice cream machine which came and made it very hard to focus on anything else ;). I withstood though and hopefully I can keep it up. My plan is to get one of these, once a month and that is it! :)

3.) When I got home I watched a scary show called, "Not Without My Daughter", it was so intense but of course had a happy ending, thank goodness!

4.) After this my mom and I watched "Dancing with the Stars". Yes, we both have secret dreams to be professional ballroom dancers, doesn't everyone? hahaha :)

5.) We then had a family home evening lesson on family traditions in the gospel and the importance of keeping them up. I am grateful for my family traditions and the unity they bring, like family scripture study and prayer, FHE, and even looking at the stars while listening to Josh Groban! :)

1.) Today I was able to go to the Gila Valley Temple Dedication! It was absolutely amazing and two of my sisters were able to sing in the choirs, they did wonderful!

2.) After the dedication was over my mom and I watched Nanny McPhee. That is such a great movie and so uplifting. I love happy endings :).

3.) I then got to take a nap which was lovely and much needed.

4.) For dinner we had some amazing twice-baked potatoes and BBQ chicken. Thank you Mom! She has never made anything that tasted bad.

5.) We then all watched The Chorus as a family and fell in love once again with the story line, characters, and music. This movie is amazing.

1.) Okay first of all, I hope to get on track with my blog. Summer has got me busy and out of routine, but I am slowly getting organized. So I will start with today. I woke up and got to decorate for my sister's 29th birthday party :). Happy Birthday Orinda!

2.) So yesterday we had a baby chick tragedy where one of our customers bought 21 chicks and after leaving them behind her car while loading the rest of her stuff, she forgot to load them in and drove off and hit the box on the way out. Luckily 11 of them lived and today a miracle occurred! I was watering and heard a chick outside, well, I looked outside and there was one miracle chick still alive! It had made it through the accident and all night without heat, water, and food. Talk about an awesome chick!

3.) After work was over, I went home where we had Paradise Pizza for dinner. This local pizza shop is amazing! Very yummy :). Orinda wanted pizza for her birthday which I was very pleased with and after three slices I was very content :).

4.) We then had Kortlynn, Chandon, Trace, and Cody come over for cake and presents. Orinda chose a chocolate cake with confetti frosting, again yum! She then got all of the Lord of the Rings and The Chorus on DVD and chocolate covered cinnamon bears with a gift card to Banana Republic. Time to go shopping!

5.) After cake and ice cream, we went outside to talk and I had a blast being Princess Leah while my nephews and I played Star Wars on the trampoline. Oh I also decided that I need to work on my light-saber sound affects :).

Okay so I know I have been a major slacker the past few weeks and so to make up for it I am going to list reasons why summer is amazing.

1.) The Hawaiian Snow shop opens! My favorite has almost always been Blueraspberry, Grape, and Cherry w/ Cream. All the workers even ask if I want my "usual" it is wonderful!

2.) Everything is greener, after dismal winter it is always nice for summer when the flowers are in bloom, the grass is actually greener, and the trees seem to wake up. Oh and along with the green comes the brown or should I say mud-bogging. There is nothing like riding a four-wheeler down a dirt road after a summer rainstorm, love it!

3.) No school! haha that is a given, but it must be listed.

4.) Sunsets in my yard. If you have never watched a sunset from the comfort of my yard you are missing out. This is my favorite time of day and on a beautiful summer day there is nothing like seeing the sunset behind my house. Wow!

5.) The doves begin singing. I don't know why but whenever I hear a dove sing I think of summer in SJ. This is my favorite bird and I always feel at peace when I hear its beautiful melody.

6.) Another beautiful time during the summer is early morning. Even though I don't get to experience this time very often, it is always a treat when I get to experience it. The grass is crisp with dew and the birds are going crazy! I love it!

7.) The summer concert series begin on the Today show :) I love these because there is always a happy song among the horror stories. It is a nice start to any Friday morning.

8.) Vacations begin! This summer I get to go to Las Vegas twice, California, and a few other random trips like Thatcher! Woohoo!

9.) This may sound weird but summertime is always the marriage season, I love summer weddings and I am excited for the few that I get to attend this time of year.

10.) Holidays! One of my favorite holidays occurs during the summer, the 24th of July and also the 4th of July. These are when SJ comes to life. I love seeing family, friends, eating lots of food, hanging out, night games, dances, laughing, and the parades. Everything about this time of year is wonderful and it brings this town and everyone else involved together.

Although this is just a small portion of why I love summer, I hope to get back on track for my blog. Sorry it has been so long, I have just been lazy, traveling and busy. Have a great day! Think about your favorite summer memories :).

1.) Today at work we seemed to laugh a lot. There were just a lot of funny moments and it made me appreciate my job even more. Just talking to my bosses puts a smile on my face and their kids are hilarious too! I am so blessed to have this job for the summer.

2.) After work I came home and Orinda and I set out on our 4 mile run. Bad part was the wind was against us, good part is now we feel like we ran 400 miles hahaha. We are both completely sore and we know that that is a good thing. Hopefully next time will be easier.

3.) We then both took showers had a nice dinner once again, and then curled up on the couch.

4.) Tonight we watched "Young Victoria" which is a type of documentary of Queen Victoria's life. Well at least her marriage. It truly was a fairytale and it was nice to have a face with the history. It was a very enjoyable movie, a great romance.

5.) During the movie we had a very odd visitor. At about 9 o'clock, we had a knock on our door and luckily my dad answered it. We were all in the background joking that it would be funny if it were a scary person, and it actually turned out to be a drunk man. haha Luckily we was not dangerous by any means, only to himself and also Orinda is friends with the cops in Saint Johns and so she just texted one of them and they came and found the man roaming the streets. Hopefully he can sleep it off and learn from this mistake. :) What an exciting night at the Herring home hahaha

1.) Let me tell you about my mornings and why I love them so. First of all, I wake up and take a shower, then I get to eat a delicious bowl of oatmeal with my mom as we watch the Today show, and then we finish getting ready and I go to work. I love it! I love having a schedule and it makes each morning peaceful, smooth and enjoyable. I love mornings and for the first time oatmeal! :)

2.) Today at work, we sold a lot of trees and flowers which always makes me happy. It makes me feel that I am being successful at my job.

3.) After work, I came home and did the Yoga video with Chandon and Orinda. We are going to be so in shape if we keep this up. Holy cow we were all sweating and our arms were going to fall off. Fun times!

4.) After the video I got to eat a delicious dinner of leftover lasagna, french bread, and salad. I love coming home and having home-cooked meals and not having to worry about if the meal is going to be healthy of not. I love my mom's cooking!

5.) Orinda and I were then in the strange mood to watch a scary movie, so we picked out one that she had already seen so that we knew we could handle it, or at least she could. haha We ended up watching "The Uninvited" which is super scary, and has a huge twist in the end. Holy Cow I screamed out loud at least once and after it was over I was mind boggled. It was crazy!

1.) Today I couldn't decide whether to go to the Singles Ward or to my home ward, I finally decided to just go to my home ward one last time and I am so glad I did. Fast and testimony meeting was so uplifting and meaningful.

2.) After church I came home and got to watch "Forever Strong". I love this movie and I learn something new every time I watch it.

3.) I then made some brownies for my mom's piano recital and they turned out better than I expected. My dough has been acting strange lately, but somehow it always turns out.

4.) Tonight the piano recital went wonderful. Each child performed amazingly and each parent beamed with pride.

5.) I think I might take ballet and clogging lessons this summer. I ran into my old teacher and I have decided that this summer I am going to work on improving myself spiritually, mentally, physically and just become the best person I can.

1.) Today I got to sleep in till 9:30! Wow! It felt great and I was glad it was Saturday.

2.) I started out by eating some delicious oatmeal and then I got to work on my room. It was a big project, but I finally finished. It is nice and clean now.

3.) After I finished that, we ate a fantastic dinner of chicken quesadillas, watched a movie, and just had an enjoyable evening. I love being home.

4.) Orinda and I then had the desire to go look at the stars. We bundled up in big blankets and went out on the trampoline. We had a great talk and I am grateful for my amazing sister.

5.) We ended the night by watching movie trailers on youtube and we both got super excited for the new Twilight movie, Eclipse! The trailer looks so exciting.

1.) First of all, it is Friday! Yay! I went to work and in the morning I got to play with the roses and grapes, I now have the hands and scrapes to prove it.

2.) While at work, my boss squished something and said, "Got It!" Me being used to bugs thought I would go over and see what he squished and immediately shrieked when I saw a little mouse! Yes a mouse. I thought I was tough by squishing cockroaches and spiders, no now there are mice! Yikes! I don't think I could ever do it.

3.) I went to a baptism this evening for a family in my ward. It was all in Spanish which was interesting and wonderful. I am so excited for this family and the effect this will have on future generations.

4.) I found out some exciting news tonight, one of my best friends from high school is pregnant! She will remain nameless until everyone knows, but I am so excited for her! Yay!

5.) My friend Sterling called tonight which was fun to get to talk to someone from BYU. We got all caught up and now he knows I am still alive and not dead like everyone thought I would be when I came home haha jk.

1.) Okie dokie, so today we got the rest of our plants in, an old man gave me two Dove chocolates, another old man proposed and I would say it was the coldest day in a long time. :) What a good day.

2.) After work I didn't want to work out because of the cold weather so instead Orinda and I ran to the store to buy Grasshopper cookies. We like to eat these cookies with hot chocolate which is a little bit of heaven.

3.) For dinner we had stir fry which was delicious.

4.) We then watched Northanger Abbey which is my new favorite movie and another wonderful version of Jane Austen's stories.

5.) After this we enjoyed some artichokes with miracle whip while watching "The Office". It was a fun night and I love being home. Tomorrow is Friday!

1.) Today was a crazy day at work. We got our trees in and let me tell you, unloading over 500 trees can be pretty tiring. We then spent the afternoon pricing them and getting them sorted. It felt great to do muscle work and I am glad that I can help. I love being able to get my hands dirty and even though it was super windy, I didn't mind. Now I have a great story.

2.) I then came home and Chandon, Orinda and I did our exercise video. It was the intense 30 Day Shred! We all were relieved when it was done. :)

3.) After this, we had breakfast for dinner which was divine and I loved my pancake and hot chocolate. Yum!

4.) We then got to watch a Hallmark movie called the Magic of Ordinary Days, or something like that and it was so cute! I love romantic uplifting movies.

5.) I then got to hit the sack early which was a nice break from the crazy day.

1.) Today was kind of a normal day at work, I cleaned, dusted, cleaned, swept, and cleaned some more. :)

2.) I came home and Orinda, Chandon and I went on a short run which was hard but good. I need to keep on working out.

3.) I then ate a delicious dinner with my family of Tuna Sandwich melts. They were delicious!

4.) We then watched our show, "Glee" haha. It is getting worse and we will probably be done watching it. I will just have to buy the songs on iTunes. This show is the perfect example of the delicious ice cream with the cockroach. We keep on trying to dig around the cockroach. Yuck!

5.) After this I got to sleep in my beautiful big queen size bed. :) I love being home.

1.) Today I woke up and went running. I did a nice 3 mile run and my favorite part was that of all the 10 cars that passed me, I knew every person and each one waved. I love small towns. :)

2.) I then began my first day back at work and it was fun to be back. My bosses' children followed me around and made work a joy. They were so funny and helped me out the entire time.

3.) I got to see all the crazies, regulars, and people of SJ. It was nice for some of the reunions even ole' Tex Trulock who came up, put his arm around me, and said, "I don't like you for two reasons, you are pretty and young." haha this 90 year old man sure knows how to get the ladies. How could I resist hahaha jk I've gotta love my job.

4.) After work, Orinda and I began our workout. Holy cow, my arms are going to be sore tomorrow. It was so intense and I didn't realize how out of shape I am. Good thing I had made brownies on Sunday to comfort me :) I promise I will eventually try to eat better. Try being the key word there.

5.) Tonight my mom gave the FHE lesson on Faith. It was a wonderful lesson and I admire her in a number of ways. Not only does she get this grown up family together to have weekly FHE lessons, but she is striving to get her young women medallion while she is working with the young women's. Wow! My mom is amazing. I am grateful for her example and I am going to try to emulate it.

1.) Today I went to my home ward which as always was wonderful. The first thing I hear as I walk up is, well hello sunshine! :) I love this ward.

2.) After church we got to relax, talk, and just laugh together as a family. It is so nice to be home and even though it is way different from college life, it will be good.

3.) We then had lemon chicken, twice baked potatoes, asparagus, corn (from our garden), and rolls for dinner. Holy Cow it was delicious!

4.) Mike and Kortlynn came over later which added another element of laughter into our home. I love my family and I always enjoy seeing them. Kortlynn did a fantastic job playing the piano for the group singing in church today. I have such a talented niece!

5.) Tonight we watched an interesting show called Lorna Doone. (no not the cookie :)) but it had it all, romance, intrigue, action, and even a small amount of humor. I enjoyed it and the company.

1.) Today I woke up giddy for my 8 hour drive home. I packed up my parents car and quickly got on our way home.

2.) While driving, my mom and I watched this movie called Cranford. It is similar to Pride and Prejudice and is about 5-6 hours long. I cried, laughed, and fell in love with the characters. It made the trip go by fast and I am glad I got to watch it.

3.) When I got home, I quickly unpacked my stuff and got to see my adorable Grandma and beautiful sister! I love walking in my home and the memories that come along with that. It is so peaceful and I even got to take a walk around my yard and see all the new trees and bushes that my dad has planted. It is going to be a beautiful summer.

4.) I then began laundry. Free laundry. Oh what a beautiful day! No more quarters for me :)

5.) We ended the night by watching Blind Side. Holy Moly that is a fantastic show. I loved every minute and would suggest it to everyone. It is so uplifting.

1.) I passed my cleaning check! Holy Cow! Our oven has never passed the cleaning check before, I was so happy.

2.) I then went and took my human development test, then my biology test, and lastly my D&C test. It was not very fun to take all three in one day, but they went well and now I am finished.

3.) I came back from school and went out to dinner with Maurine and Sterling. One word, Yum! We went to Costa Vida and then to Wendy's. It was absolutely delicious and the conversation was hilarious. :)

4.) I then got to go swimming for a few minutes and before I could take a shower, Adam and Michael came by to say goodbye. :) I love my ward. Well, instead of just saying goodbye, Jenn and I decided to go and get ice cream and make the occasion momentous :). After laughing and eating some amazing Sherbet ice cream, we decided to watch Sword in the Stone.

5.) We ended the night by having a sleepover at Jenn's house. Kelsi, Jenn and I in one bed. haha we didn't last long.

1.) Today I got to go to the Timpanogos temple to do baptisms for the dead. It has become one of my favorite temples and I hope to go back next semester quite a bit. It was beautiful, not rushed, and just peaceful. The workers were extra nice too.

2.) I sold my car today. :( Scarlett has been a great companion for the past 5 years and I guess it is time to move on. She and I had a lot of good memories and I look forward to buying a bike for next semester. :) I think I shall name him Will. :)

3.) When we got back I packed some more and began piling all of my belongings in one corner. It is so empty now in my room and I am just about ready to leave.

4.) I went out and tanned for a little bit with Jenn, Jordan, and Kelsi. It has been so beautiful lately that everywhere you look, there are people in shorts and flip-flops.

5.) I should have started studying at this point, but instead I kept on packing and cleaning. I think I got a little carried away and now I am completely ready to leave. Everybody is so confused about when I am leaving haha. This is what happens when you procrastinate studying during finals.

1.) I went to my last human development class, my last doctrine and covenants class, and my last jogging class. I am finished with classes for this semester, Yay!

2.) I then went to my roommate Diana's ROC performance where she did phenomenal! She had a few dance and singing solos which she did very well on. She has been such a great roommate.

3.) I got to just hang out with roommates and neighbors tonight which was fun. We got to talk about boys, eat cookies and cookie dough, and just laugh. Gotta love girl nights ;)

4.) In my jogging class today I was able to beat my time from the beginning of the semester by 30 seconds. I won't tell you how fast that was because I want to keep a little bit of my pride :)

5.) I started packing which was weird. I cannot believe that it is time to go already. I also can't believe how much stuff I have. This is a bigger job than I thought.

1.) Today was a great day! I woke up at 5:30 to study for biology test which I got an A on! Yay!

2.) The weather was beautiful this morning and I was even able to wear shorts to campus. Haha I wish I could say it lasted all day, but sadly it snowed tonight. Crazy weather!

3.) I then went to work and got off super early which was nice for my last day.

4.) I went home and started packing, then Kiara and I went for a quick 3 mile jog. It felt great and was much needed.

5.) I ended off the night by going to my Ward Closing Social. It was fun and I ate way too much. I love my ward so much and I know I will miss it, but I am also so excited to head home this weekend. Holy Cow this year flew by!

1.) Today church was amazing! It was my last Sunday in my BYU 128th ward which was sad, and I am going to miss all the amazing people I have met. Hopefully we can all keep in touch.

2.) After church I made brownies for break-the-fast and they turned out amazing if I don't say so myself :) There was so much good food at break-the-fast! Wow! I am stuffed.

3.) Tonight we had Pie Night at my apartment while we watched "The Best Two Years". I love that movie and the pie was delectable! Good times.

4.) Okay so it was amazing, tonight I was sitting with a few of the guys in my ward, when my friend Michael began to speak in French. After he was done, I asked him what he had said and he said that he had recited the First Vision. We then went around the circle of guys and had each of them share the First Vision experience in their mission language. It ended up being French, Spanish, Italian, Chinese and of course English. Wow! I love RM's sometimes :)

5.) Ward Prayer was a blast tonight. It went well and was a success. I then got to talk to a lot of people in the ward and it was great closure. I am going to miss them all. Hopefully my future ward is as good as this one. :)

1.) This morning I woke up and literally ran to Macey's for some final items for Aimee's Bridal Shower. It felt good to get a little exercise and I could tell this was going to be a beautiful day.

2.) Aimee's bridal shower was a success. We had a ton of good food (which I mostly ate), games, and company. I think everyone had fun.

3.) Jordann, Breena, Kelsi, and I all then went to the Bridal Fair (held at the local high school (only in Utah)), and I got to pretend to be engaged to a guy named Daniel Jones from California. I was planning on getting married in June and so we got special treatment and a lot of free stuff. :) It was a blast and I am now grateful to be single once again :). Being engaged is a lot of work!

4.) After the bridal fair, a bunch of girls and I went out to enjoy the beautiful day. It finally felt like spring! We just did some homework, or at least tried, and absorbed some rays getting our Vitamin D.

5.) I then ended the day by working once again at Humor U. The jokes were still funny, and everything ran smoothly. I love my job sometimes :).

1.) I took my final today for biology. I am so happy to be finished with this class and now I am starting to get a glimpse of the end of this semester. I am so excited for summer!

2.) I then went and worked Humor U for the rest of the night. It was hilarious and I am glad I got to work it. It was a long time to work but it was very entertaining and worth it.

3.) I got to get up close and personal with all the performers which gave me an insight as to where they get their jokes, the type of people they are, and how they perform. I learned a lot.

4.) One of my favorite parts of working was during the time I was testing the microphones. I began just talking and at one point the director of the show yelled, "You're funny!" Can you believe it? The director of Humor U thought I was funny! Yay!

5.) I came back from work and got to just talk to roommates, relax, and finally sleep. :)

1.) Today started out with me and Nicole getting to go look at her wedding dress! It is absolutely gorgeous and we even got to stop on the way there and get a piece of bread from our favorite bread store. It was a perfect morning.

2.) Next, I went to Doctrine and Covenants and after that I got to come home and go running. It was just a quick jog but it was too beautiful a day to pass up.

3.) When I got back from jogging, Jenn and I went outside to tan. It was so relaxing that we both quickly fell asleep and an hour later woke up.

4.) I went to my jogging class after this where we did 1000 meter repetitions. Ahh! It was so hard, but so worth it! Now, I am completely sunburned because of my 4 hours in the sun. Hopefully I will get a nice tan haha

5.) Tonight I got to have a delicious meal at dinner group, cookies with Jenn, and we then got to watch Sherlock Holmes which is a fascinating movie! I give it two enthusiastic thumbs up! :)

1.) I worked from 10:30 to 4, it was a long shift but a great one. They even fed us lunch. :)

2.) I came back and went running after finding out that a simple chocolate chip cookie that I ate had 480 calories! Who knew they could squeeze that much sugar into a simple chocolate chip!

3.) Aimee and I went to get a pizza, then on the way back we were sad to find out that Enrichment included eating pizza haha, oh well. Now we have leftovers for breakfast!

4.) Enrichment tonight we tie dyed shirts as a closing social. This has been such an amazing year and I have loved my ward. It will be sad to leave.

5.) I finally showered and washed my hair! This may seem disgusting and repulsive, but let me explain. Every morning I have good intentions to wake up and wash my hair but I, for some reason, can never wake up when I want to, so in the end I take a quick bath, throw my hair in a ponytail, and run out the door. I hope this doesn't become a habit. haha I usually am super clean I promise!

1.) So today I went to human development and doctrine and covenants! These are pretty much my only two classes now on tuesdays and thursdays other than jogging. Wow, this semester went from begin absolutely crazy to the easiest few weeks of my life!

2.) I came back after class and watched the beginning of Charly. (The happy part) :)

3.) I then went to jogging where my teacher had us run 4 miles, phew! I am glad that is over.

4.) I got to have Macaroni and Cheese for dinner and just a tip that I have come to learn: Spiral is so much better than the normal brand, it has more flavor than Original (I think this is because of more surface area haha), but ya that is just my opinion.

5.) I went and saw "The Last Song". Now before you judge me, I actually don't mind Miley Cyrus. I love chick flicks and I also love Nicholas Sparks. It was a tear-jerker and I haven't cried that much in a movie in a long time. I thoroughly enjoyed it :). Ooh especially the free popcorn!

1.) I turned in my last research paper and did my presentation! Yay! I am practically finished with school.

2.) I ran 4.5 miles today, which just about killed me, but I loved it!

3.) Today at work, we got out a little early which was nice and refreshing.

4.) I then went to the gym with Nicole and did a basic workout. Not too much because I didn't want to overdue it.

5.) I got to come home and just relax. It was amazing! I haven't done that in so long! I got to just get a few little things done and I also hung out with friends. I love my life.

1.) Today I slept in again and woke up just in time for conference. I never get to sleep in this late, but it was much needed.

2.) Conference was once again amazing and I wish it could go on every week. I love listening to the general authorities of the church and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir.

3.) I took a nap between sessions which was not normal, but I guess I was super tired. I feel revived now haha hopefully.

4.) After conference, I had an Easter feast with my roommates and some friends in the ward. We had ham, twice baked potatoes, and deviled eggs. Yum!

5.) I then went to my cousin's house for another Easter dinner and here we had chicken, veggies, a dying egg party and once again deviled eggs. :) I love Easter!

P.S. Happy Easter, I have come to love this holiday and the importance of the atonement and resurrection that goes along with it. I love this gospel.

1.) First of all, I must say, conference was phenomenal! I love hearing the inspired words and I was in need of a boost. I love the peace that comes with listening to conference.

2.) I finished my last research paper this semester and now I just have finals and I am finished with my Junior year of college! Whoa!

3.) Today I got to go to a pizza party between sessions of conference where there was good food, company and fun.

4.) I slept in today which was wonderful and it was much needed.

5.) I ate a ton of oreos which probably wasn't best, but you can't break tradition right? haha I love oreos and conference.

1.) This morning I went to school at 6:30 and even though I thought it was going to be hard, once I started walking to campus I began hearing the birds chirp and I knew that everything was okay and it was going to be a fantastic Friday!

2.) We did our presentation today in Biology and now all I have to do is study for the final :) I love it when school begins to come to an end.

3.) I came back from school and watched "Maid in Manhattan" it is a cute show, and I was in the mood for a chick flick.

4.) I went to my Stage Manager meeting and I found out that I get to work next Friday and Saturday for Humor U. It should be super fun and I hope it will be.

5.) Tonight I went and baby sat with Mallori. I babysat 3 girls - twin 1o year olds and one 7 year old - for 3 hours and I made $70 dollars. Can you say amazing?! This was the easiest job I have ever worked and I have never made over $20/hour.

1.) I was able to fast today for my bishop and his surgery went well. He seems to be cancer-free now that they took out his kidney. I am so grateful for the power of prayers and fasting.

2.) After work today, I got to go to Tucano's with Jenn because I had a coupon. After fasting all day, we ate like pigs and even the flirtatious waiter said he was proud of us haha. If that is a compliment.

3.) We then went and rented "Love Happens" which is a super sad show but ends happily and has some cute parts. I probably won't ever watch it again.

4.) We went and got ice cream at the creamery. I got Graham Canyon which is quickly becoming one of my new favorites. This ice cream is so delicious!

5.) I have finally decided to move into a house this fall semester. I will be living with Lora Patterson which I am super excited for, Kelsi Hansen, Melissa Carter, Jordan Koehler and 4 other girls. Ya, it will be a lot of girls but it is a big house and it should be an adventure which I am ready for. Who knows what will happen, all I know is, it is a great deal on an adorable house.

2.) Today I didn't run very much, I only ran a little over a mile because I had a lot to do. But I am glad I got to go running.

1.) Today has been kind of a stressful day, but a good day. I woke up late but was able to make it to my biology quiz. I got 13 out of 14 and that with just studying for a few minutes before class. Yay!

2.) I then got to observe a preschool and they were sure cute. It is stuff like this that gets me excited to teach.

3.) At work today a girl dislocated her shoulder which was scary, but she is going to be okay and I am glad that she is recovering quickly.

4.) After work I went running with Kiara and we had a great talk. We always have fantastic talks as we run.

5.) Tonight well at least 20 minutes ago, I finished my last human development paper! Yay! Only one more paper to write this semester and I am done! Holy cow, I am so excited.

2.) Church was amazing and was on gratitude, forgiveness, and many other wonderful topics.

3.) After church, I got to hang out with friends and Jordann and I just laughed and went on a beautiful walk.

4.) We had an Easter fireside tonight which was phenomenal. Jordann and I cried and cried but I didn't mind because I loved every minute of it. I love this time of year.

5.) Ward Prayer went well and our Bishop just found out has kidney cancer. I know that everything will be okay though and we are having a ward fast for him on Wednesday. He is such a wonderful man and I hope he knows that he is loved.

1.) I got paid today! Yay! I love having a job and that security that I feel knowing every two weeks I am going to have money.

2.) I had my last biology lab today. :) I love it when the end of the school year comes. Summer is so close, only two and a half more weeks!

3.) I went on a rock identification trip to Rock Canyon. I learned a lot and I also got 2% extra credit. Sweet!

4.) Tonight I got to go to the Pizza Pie Cafe where I ate way too much! It was so delicious and I couldn't stop :).

5.) After coming home from that, a few of the girls in my ward came over and we ended up, all 5 of us, falling asleep on my twin bed. haha luckily it was only for a few minutes or that would not have been a very happy morning.

1.) I turned in my doctrinal analysis, now I only have two more papers to write this semester! Yay!

2.) I took my human development test and got a 90%! I was so excited to finally get an A!

3.) I went to the library with Anna haha (another Anna) and we worked on our research papers together. It really helped to have someone to encourage me to buckle down and write.

4.) Okay, so tonight was such a fun night. First of all, Adam called me to ask me to go to "Casey at the Bat" I was excited and when he came to pick me up, he brought Sterling. "Huh?" I asked myself and I finally turned to the guys and said, "So what's going on?" They both started laughing hard and said, "Anna, we only had three tickets, so we are taking you on a date." Sweet! It was such a fun date and now I can say I have been on a date with two guys at the same time. Hmm... Maybe that is not such a good thing to be proud of, but I had fun. They are awesome guys!

5.) I had to go to work after the "double" date :) and we ended up working until 1:30 in the morning. Luckily I have fantastic co-workers.

1.) At work today, we did a TON of maintenance. It does sometimes get old, but I am glad that I have a job that I feel like I am being productive. The only thing that could make it better is if I were to be a little more busy. hmm... that doesn't seem right haha, but it is true.

2.) I got to go to Jamba Juice today. One word, Yum! I got a five fruit mix and I was in heaven. I loved it so much and I felt so healthy.

3.) I finished my Doctrine and Covenants paper! Yay! I am so glad that paper is over, now I only have two more papers this semester! :)

4.) Tonight Sterling came by to talk to Maurine and my copy of "Never Been Kissed" was sitting on the table. Well, he happened to look at it and giggled, when asked what was wrong he said, "haha this says, "Anna Herring Never Been Kissed!" Needless to say, I was so embarrassed! He then went on to ask, "Personal question, is this true?" I blushed a little and said, "Yes". He then said, "No worries, I haven't either." haha My lovely roommate then said, "Aw, you two can share a First Love's True Love's Kiss!' haha long story short, I was embarrassed but I am glad I wasn't the only one. That awkward conversation actually turned into a funny moment for my entire apartment.

5.) My roommate made these amazing cookies tonight which reminds me, I need to go eat another one. :) Goodnight!

1.) I got to drive this morning to pick up the Flamenco dancers from their hotel. They were so nice and friendly. It made the job very enjoyable.

2.) I went to my Rock Identification Final and it actually went a lot of better than I planned. I feel pretty good about that class and I am so grateful that it ended 3 weeks early.

3.) I got to go to my jogging class today where we ran 3 miles. Even though it was super windy, it felt great and I am glad I got to go running.

4.) I was able to videotape the Flamenco dancers tonight. They were phenomenal! I am so glad I was able to go and be a part of this event.

5.) My roommates and I watched "Hook" tonight. I love that movie and I hadn't seen it in a long time. It was a nice break from studying.

1.) I was able to study and take my biology test today. I did better than I planned on and got the highest grade I've gotten on a test. A "B"! I hope to get even better than that on the final.

2.) At work I got to drive to Salt Lake City in a 15 passenger van to pick up the Calo Flamenco Dancers. I was super nervous at first, but I made it! I was able to bring them safely to Provo and they were very fun to talk to.

3.) I figured out today that listening to the song, "I Haven't Met You Yet" by Michael Buble while walking to school is the best way to start the day. It is hopeful, exciting, and has a fantastic beat. I would recommend it to those that may be suffering from Spring Fever and need inspiration on their way to school.

4.) Tonight my ward had a combined FHE. We had the CLIO awards which were given out for the commercials that our FHE groups made. My roommate and I dressed up which was fun and we ended up winning the Crowd Favorite award and the best Foreign commercial. It was a lot of fun and the videos were super creative.

5.) Tonight I began studying for my rock final. I am taking it on Tuesday and I hope that it all goes well. Who knew that there were so many different kinds of rocks?!

1.) Wow, I am behind on my writing, but today we had a musical Sacrament meeting. It was very good and I love listening to music to bring in the spirit. I have such a talented ward.

2.) After church, Jenn, Breena and I began watching A Little Princess. It is such a cute show.

3.) My roommate, Mallori, made a delicious feast for dinner. We had pork roast, mashed potatoes, and cooked carrots. It was so nice to have a home cooked meal.

4.) Tonight Adam, Sterling, and Michael came by and were hilarious! They are such funny guys and they always make everyone around them have fun.

5.) At ward prayer I got to talk and get caught up with a lot of people. I hadn't seen anyone for awhile because of school and work, so I was glad to see everyone again.

1.) Today I got to sleep in which was absolutely needed. This past week and the coming week are going to be super busy, so I am going to enjoy the weekend.

2.) I then went to work where we had to move the harpsichord and later I stage managed a singing recital. The girl had the most amazing voice and she was a sweetheart. I love my job sometimes.

3.) Later, I came back and worked on my hair while I watched "The Little Rascals". That is such a cute show and I have decided that my favorite rascal is Porky. :) He is adorable!

4.) I got to watch the BYU basketball game on TV (which they lost) :( but it was still fun because Maurine, Jenn and I all went and got ice cream and Girl Scout Cookies during half time to make ourselves feel better. :)

5.) I took my last physical science test which I am pretty excited about. I am tired of taking multiple choice tests that have answers a through m available. Yuck! :)

1.) This morning I went running with my friend Bryan. You notice I didn't say jogging. haha This is because he is about a half a foot taller than me, and is preparing for a marathon. I found this out after we had started our route. Holy moly! I was dying and even though I knew I was slowing him down, it was a really good run. We did 4.5 miles and I am glad I did it.

2.) Some of the girls in my ward are moving to a house in the fall and they invited me to come! This house is vintage, beautiful, and huge! Also the girls are awesome and it would be fun except for one minor detail. There would not be enough room for me and Lora. :) That is one part I am not willing to give up. So unless more spots open up, it looks like I will be living in the Glenwood. Which is also wonderful, but I am going to keep my fingers crossed for the house. :)

3.) Tonight I got to go BYU's version of "The Price is Right". They called it "The Cost is Correct" and it was a blast! My friend, Anna, got to go up and she won a camera! She has never even watched the show before and she did amazing. They actually had amazing prizes too. Michael Buble tickets, a big screen TV, March Madness tickets, and many other wonderful prizes. I am glad I got to go.

4.) My friend, Jordan, had her 22nd birthday party tonight. There was good music, company food and an amazing birthday cake with a barbie and a beach on it. :) Ya it was awesome!

5.) My English class was cancelled today which was wonderful. We were supposed to have a paper due but my teacher has decided to give us at least another week. I love my life!

1.) Today was again beautiful.... I actually was able to go outside in my bathing suit and go tanning. Crazy! I know!

2.) During my jogging class it started getting a little cold but it was perfect running weather. We ran on the grass which was hard, but wonderful!

3.) While we were running, the BYU Rugby team was practicing. Talk about a distraction! haha I have never pushed myself so hard.

4.) At dinner group tonight, we had tomato soup with noodles and meat. We didn't know what to expect, but it was so delicious!!! Thanks Mimi! :)

5.) I figured out all my classes for next semester which gets me excited for next semester. Oh boy, I am ready for summer.

1.) Happy Saint Patrick's Day!!! I woke up at 6 to get ready for my presentation and to turn in my paper. Phew! I finished everything!

2.) Today we did presentations for the 6th graders at Farrer Elementary school. It was very entertaining and I think my favorite part was when my partner said to two little boys, "Hey! You guys match!" (because they were both wearing green shirts). He then replied by saying, "We don't match! I am Korean and he is Mexican!" haha it was hilarious!

3.) I got off work today 3 hours early. :) Oh happy days! I was then able to come home and take a 1 and a half hour nap. (The little boy in the picture is how I felt before the nap haha).

4.) Kiara and I ran our little 4.5 mile run. It was absolutely perfect weather and I hope it stays for a long time!

5.) Tonight I got to go volunteer at the mental hospital. We went to their enrichment which was nice. The lesson was on overcoming adversity and challenges in our lives. After a few hilarious and outrageous comments from a few of the patients, we had an activity, treats, and I actually had an enjoyable time. I hope to be able to volunteer more often.

1.) Today I had my last physical science class! Yay!!!

2.) I got to go to my jogging class today which was super intense. We had to run uphill in grass and my calves were burning, but I couldn't stop. Also, before running I got to go to the gym and do some stretching and sit-ups.

3.) I could not believe how much I ate tonight. Holy Cow! Just as I told my roommate, "Now that I've eaten the kitchen, what else can I eat?" I don't know what my problem was, I couldn't stop! haha

4.) I signed my contract for next semester. I can't believe this semester is almost over. This year went by so fast and I have loved it!

5.) I finally finished my paper and project at 3 in the morning. It was a long night, but I also got my laundry done. :)

1.) Today I woke up at my usual time, 7:30. I should be waking up at 7 considering my class is at 8, but that is another story. The problem with waking up at 7:30 today was that we are now on Daylight Savings Time and it was actually 8:30. haha I didn't want to go to Biology in the first place! haha

2.) I got to go running during my break which was nice. I ran 4.5 miles and it felt great!

3.) At work today we got to do maintenance and even though maintenance is usually the most boring thing to do, work went by quickly!

4.) After work, Kiara and I went running, again! Luckily we only did 3.5 miles.

5.) For FHE tonight our group made a commercial for the future ward activity. Our video is going to be super funny and I hope it all works out.

1.) Today was fast Sunday which was wonderful. Fast and Testimony meeting was very uplifting and every testimony in some way strengthened mine of the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon. I love Sundays!

2.) My roommate, Maurine, gave a fantastic lesson on Rachel and Jacob. She is a fantastic teacher and truly makes the class relate to the topic. I love her lessons!

3.) I got to watch "The Chorus" today. Even though I couldn't find it with English subtitles, it was still amazing! haha ya I ended up watching a French movie with Spanish subtitles. It was a great combination especially since I don't know either language. The little boy in the picture has the most amazing voice!

4.) At break-the-fast today, we had delicious food and afterwards I got to go to Adam and Sterling's house to eat pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. My new favorites! We then played the clapping game and just laughed and talked. I love my ward guys.

5.) After ward prayer tonight, which went well, we had a group of people come on over to watch "Les Miserables". It is such a great movie and is now on my list of movies that I have cried in. Ahh! Embarrassing! haha jk

1.) I took my Doctrine and Covenants Test, which I am so happy to be finished with. I have learned so much in this class, and I love the teacher. If anyone has to take D&C in the future, take it with Scott Esplin.

2.) I got to sleep in today which was wonderful. I love Saturdays.

3.) Jenn and I watched "Singing in the Rain." I love this movie and Gene Kelly is an amazing actor, dancer, and singer.

4.) I got to go to work and set up for a fireside for Sheri Dew. Even though it was a late shift, it was worth it just to be involved in the fireside in a small way.

5.) I got to go to Melissa's house to eat cookies and watch a little bit of "A Knight's Tale". haha "It's called a lance, hello!" hahaha funny movie.

1.) Finishing my physical science test! I only have a week left of that class yay!

2.) Planning a 50s night which quickly turned into an 80s night. Fun times!

3.) A group of girls in my ward and I dressed up in our 80s gear and went to the UVU institute superhero dance. I felt like I was in the movie, "Girls Just Want to Have Fun".

4.) Watching "The Interpreter" after the dance while pigging out on candy, ice cream, and chocolate.

5.) Today was just a good day. I finished all that I wanted to and school went by quickly.

1.) This morning my human development class got out early which gave me more time to get ahead on my homework.

2.) Doctrine and Covenants was as always very interesting and today we learned about the Shakers in sections 49 and 50.

3.) I took my practice rock test in physical science and considering I still look at a rock and say, "hmm... this looks like a black round rock," tells me that I still need more practice. :)

4.) I ran three miles today even though I was super sore from running 5 yesterday. It was worth it. I then came back to my apartment and turned on "Sleepless in Seattle" and then went out to the hot tub before dinner group. It was a wonderful evening.

5.) Tonight my ward had our own olympics. It was a blast and I was one of the team members from China. We came in second place after Canada (who cheated) haha and it was just a fun night. I don't know if I have said this enough, but I love my ward!

March 10th Happy Thoughts!

1.) I was completely slap happy at work today, I don't know why but everything was funny and it was just a good day. Although, I also work with some truly funny people.

2.) One of the girls that I work with is going to set me up with a brother that is on a mission. :) It is always a compliment to get set up with someone's family member. It is another way of them saying, "I wouldn't mind being related to you for eternity." or else, "I hate my brother, I want to ruin his life" haha either way, I am trying to be positive.

3.) I ran five miles today and just a tip, don't run after eating a delicious chocolate chip cookie, hot chocolate, and good-n-plenty. ;)

4.) My mom gave me my birthday present which was a beautiful new straightener. (My last one broke ;( ). I love it and have already tested it out. Thank you mom!

5.) Tonight my roommate bought pizza and breadsticks, yum! I then went and got some much needed milk from the store. Thank goodness for Macey's.

March 9th Happy Thoughts!

1.) I ran 3 miles today! Yay, and instead of snow, we only had to run in rain. Thank goodness!

2.) In my physical science class, we got candy during the presentations. I love presentations haha.

3.) Tonight at work, the performers played modern music which I personally hate, but the directors like me which was a plus. All you need to do is stay nice, positive, and yourself and the world will love you. That is my personal philosophy.

4.) I got to have a little cookie dough with my dinner. Hey! I ran 3 miles, I deserved it hahaha. I will try to be better tomorrow. :)

5.) I started my project in biology using redworms. Good times! My group was able to feed them and weigh out dirt. It was a very productive day. :)

March 8th Happy Thoughts!

1.) It's my birthday!!! Today I woke up and my 9 o'clock class was cancelled which made this morning perfect. No School!

2.) I then was able to go get my haircut at the Paul Mitchell school which was as always fun.

3.) I went to work for about 2 hours but then was able to go shopping at Old Navy afterwards where I found a cute skirt, shirt, jacket, and scarf.

4.) Maurine and I went out to dinner at Tucano's. One word, Yum! Our cute waiter also helped us eat more than we planned. Thank you! :) Oh the picture is of us being passed out after eating too much hahaha

5.) After dinner I came home and my neighbor, Kiara, had made me a delicious birthday cake and I got many wonderful messages over Facebook, phone, and text all day. I felt so loved and everything was amazing. I am now 21! Ahh!
